I’m not much of a “I told you so” mommy. I strongly believe in natural consequences for my children and allow them to make mistakes and learn from them whenever it is safe. Usually these experiences end with a “this is why you don’t/shouldn’t/aren’t supposed to…” comment from me.
And I AM a “quick, take a picture before you help them” mommy:
This is why doll buggies stay on the floor…
This is why you don’t try to wiggle away from a guy with a broken collar bone…
This is why you don’t rock so hard in the chair…
This is why you don’t pull so hard on the wrapping paper…
This is why you don’t try to get out from the raincover…
This is why you don’t jump on hardwood in tights…
This is why you don’t climb on the stool without a big person…
This is why you don’t kick your toy bar…
This is why you don’t run in wellies…
This is why you don’t back out of the chair…
This is why you don’t roll under the bed…
This is why you pull out the chair before climbing up…
This is why you don’t play “tackle grapefruit”…
This is why you don’t crawl between the table and chair…
This is why you don’t try to get around the barricade…
This is why you don’t sit in a basket…
This is why you don’t linger at the bottom of the slide…
This is why you don’t crawl on the edge of the saucer…
This is why you don’t crawl around with a towel on your head…
This is why you don’t try to get inside the bedside table…
This is why you don’t play under the coffee table…
This is why you don’t try to stand up at the table…
This is why you don’t get too wild at the museum…
This is why you don’t flip over the hotel chair…
This is why you don’t steal mommy’s iPad and run away with it…
This is why you don’t try to get into the buggy from the chair…
This is why you don’t fold up your bed mattress instead of napping…
This is why you don’t wear glitter tights in a house full of cats…
This is why you don’t try to take your pajamas off during nap…
Love this! Such a creative post and so cute with the pics too!
Thanks, just a reminder that “this is my life…” (but I love almost every second of it!)
So cute! My kids used to do a lot of these things, but they would tantrum about it so fast there wasn’t time for a picture before it looked like they were in hysterics!
This will be a great post/photo collection to look back on with them when they’re older. I love it!
Thanks, Jessica! We have a lot of those tantrum moments as well (some on camera!) and sooooo many more of these moments since I first posted this, I feel an update coming…
