Goodie bags are perhaps one of the things I dislike most about birthday parties. I hate coming home with a bag filled with candy, nail polish and lipgloss (all things that I don’t really let my kids have) or messy goo and bubbles or tiny little silly toys that my girls look at for a second and then toss aside.
When I went to make the goodie bags for Honeybun’s birthday this year, I set out on a mission to get things that the children would like but hopefully the parents would too!
We went to the dollar store and this is what we ended up getting: a pen, small spiral notebook, spiral art stencil, swirly straw and glow bracelets. We used plain white paper lunch sacks which Honeybun decorated for each of her guests.
I tried to buy everything in multi-packs which also helped save money. I ended up spending about $15 total and had enough items to make 9 goodie bags plus extras of some items.
