Mommy to a 2nd grader and kindergartner says:
I am not at all a fan of the common core curriculum. Luckily neither have been our teachers. They follow it but they also find ways to seek out their own other favorite curriculums. They do what is necessary for the school to maintain the curriculum but it’s great to see them reach into their education experience and continue to expose the kids above and beyond.
