I love going out and I love getting dressed up. And while the getting ready part is not always the easiest with kids around (hence my chronicle “Out Without Kids”), it’s always worth the hassle in the end.
This past weekend we attended a family wedding, all five of us! Amd while I never mind taking my kids places, getting fancy with the family adds an extra element of stress for my getting ready because taking baby=needing boob access.
This is not a big deal on a daily basis, I have quite a thorough wardrobe of nursable clothes. But when I’m taken out of my usual jean shorts and cross-over t-shirts, I’m left without many options.
I have plenty of dresses in my closet:
And more than enough that would be appropriate for a wedding:
But once you remove the ones that aren’t suitable for a winter wedding:
Or a family friendly event:
The ones that are massively too big:
And those that are absolutely not nursable:
I’m left with slim pickins: Three strapless dresses though while not nursing-ideal, are nursing possible. (Until I try them on and realize in fact two are not nursable due to stiff boning).
Leaving me with the clear winner and only option (other than going shopping for ANOTHER dress I’ll most likely never wear again):
(Electric Sliding with a sleeping Doodle–the only pic we have of me from the wedding, mommy is always behind the camera!)
