My Winter Car Seat Safety post has been pretty popular and I’m glad so many people are taking the time to learn about keeping their little ones warm and safe in the car.
But as another cold blast takes over nearly the entire country (we are nice and warm here in Florida, thanks for asking!) I can not stress enough that Coats and Car Seats DO NOT mix! Icy roads, white out conditions, nervous drivers are all the players that cause collisions making bad weather the most important time to buckle up safely (though every time is really just as important, they’re called accidents for a reason!)
So please, keep your little ones safe and remove the coat before buckling the car seat (this goes for mom and dad and big brother and sister also, your coats can compress in an accident too!)
