Everyone loves a good birth story and I’ve spent the past week contemplating Pipsqueak’s birth and how best to share it. My previous births were easy to tell, fraught with anguish and inner drama, spanning hours upon hours (read Honeybun, Sugarplum and Doodle’s stories).
But Pipsqueak’s birth was so different, it almost seems impossible to tell the story so instead, thanks to the help of technology (phone/text records, contraction tracker on my phone and timestamps on pictures) I’ve decided the best way to show the immensity of his birth is through a timeline.
So, here it is: Pipsqueak’s Birthing Timeline
Wow! Awesome! Wow!
Thanks, Lauren…that’s a little how I feel, too!
Reading your post reminded me of my own labor. The relief when the baby finally comes out is one of the best feelings ever. From the picture, Pipsqueak looks strong and mature, like he could be a month old. My daughter was like that too. Congrats on your delivery! Whew!
He is very big and strong, people think he’s 3 or 4 months old when we’re out now (he’s only 6 weeks!) and you’re right about the relief and overwhelming joy when baby finally comes, seriously one of the best feelings of my life!
