This is my diaper bag, my glorious Irish Rugby backpack that we have toted all over since we left Dublin over three years ago (we actually bought it at the airport giftshop the day we moved back!) Perfectly portable, generously sized, amazingly easy to organize (for what we carry, anyways) and manly enough for hubby to schlep when necessary.
Unfortunately, I don’t give this bag as much attention as it really deserves. In fact, I haven’t done more than add more stuff inside since well before Pipsqueak was born. So, I figured it was time to do a full clean out since I can’t find anything in it but junk I don’t want!
Here’s what I found in my diaper bag when I emptied it completely:
- Three pairs of sandals (one for each kid–the girls are from our last trip to Disney in July!)
- My walking around sunglasses that I’ve been looking for (also from our Disney trip, I wear prescription ones in the car)
- Sugarplum’s sunglasses
- 8 Pads (that postpartum bleeding is no joke, man!)
- 2 burp rags
- 1/2 package disposable newborn diapers for Pipsqueak
- 5 of Doodle’s diapers (that are a size too small!)
- Wipes
- 2 changing/wet pads
- Doodle’s bag of “safe” snacks
- 2 onesise for Pipsqueak
- 2 pairs of pants for Pipsqueak
- 3 pairs of socks for Pipsqueak
- 2 bags of candy from a birthday party this weekend
And you know what wasn’t in my diaper bag? My nappy sacks that I’ve been digging around for, guess I’ll have to hunt the house instead so I have them next time I have a dirty cloth diaper to bring home!
So what went back in my diaper bag? The absolute minimum (I like to keep things simple!)
- Diapers for both boys
- Wipes
- Changing/wet pads
- Doodle’s snacks
- One complete outfit for Pipsqueak
Plus I have Pipsqueak’s cloth diapers and wetbag which I take in and out each trip.
