We recently started using WriteShop Primary for our homeschool writing curriculum with both my second and fourth graders. The program is designed as an introduction to writing and aims to help children build confidence in writing while working closely with parents (read why we chose WriteShop Primary over other homeschool writing programs.)

The WriteShop Primary program emphasizes creating a writing center to help encourage writing and facilitate the lessons. I’m still working on setting up our writing center within the space we have for homeschooling, but I have gathered and organized most of the supplies needed to set up a WriteShop Primary Writing Center.
This is everything you need to create the perfect writing Center:
Manuscript Letter Alphabet Chart
Keep a alphabet chart handy for younger kids to reference when writing.
Chart Paper
Chart paper is used for the guided writing practice at the beginning of each lesson to model writing activities.
Manila File Folders
File folders are used for creating portable word banks young writers can reference.
Pocket Chart
A Pocket Chart is used to display sentence strips created during pocket chart activities in the program.
Organizer
You’ll need a way to organize all the small writing supplies for the WriteShop Primary Program.
Rolling Drawer Cart
If space allows, a cart with lots of drawers is the perfect solution for keeping all the little writing tools handy.
Small Organizing Case
If space is at a minimum, a good divided organizing case can easily hold all the various supplies you need.
