I’ve always been pretty computer saavy. My family had a computer at home long before anyone else I knew did. My daddy did IT work and had a home computer for when he needed to solve middle of the night problems.
I’m pretty good at figuring out how to use most new computer software and create spreadsheets for everything! Where I’ve always been a little timid, though, is with social media. Even though I was in college during the heyday of MySpace and the start of Facebook, I wasn’t on either. I always contended that if anyone from my past wanted to find me, my phone number and e-mail had stayed the same and I didn’t want people who never cared about me in the first place trying to get in touch with me. I joined Facebook less than 4 years ago, around the time people’s parents were starting to join too!
I was trying to find a friend from the past and her phone number I had was no longer good so I signed myself up and easily found her, along with about 100 other people. I don’t have nearly as many “friends” as most people I know but I do know each and every one of my “friends” personally and would get gladly get coffee or dinner with any one of them. I don’t accept requests from people I don’t know or don’t care for.
So then there’s the whole Pinterest, Twitter, Google+ thing and I’ve yet to venture into any of it, until now! After prompting from a good friend, I finally set up a Pinterest board for Beyond Mommying where I can share and better organize my tips and tools of the mommy trade. So, like me, repin me, follow me at http://pinterest.com/beyondmommying/
