Beyond Mommying started in January of 2013. After living overseas and returning “home,” I wasn’t able to get a job in my field. I was pregnant and had two young daughters and was feeling my talents and knowledge were being underutilized by “just” being a mommy and so began my blog and my journey and mission to share my story and experiences.
I blog and live within the motto:
“Life is never boring when you’re never alone, but I know somewhere out there, there is life Beyond Mommying!”
I share truthfully and openly about my experiences, preferences, likes and dislikes and love working with other bloggers, projects and brands. If you’re interested in working with me, you can contact me here or at BeyondMommying@gmail.com and my media kit is available upon request.
Great post! All I can really say is DITTO!!!! Sometimes we moms do just need to hang back and realize that, despite the usual valleys of parenthood, we are doing more than an Okay job of it all! Thanks for the reminder.
Thanks, Bonnie! I agree and think that sometimes even “okay” is good enough. No one is perfect all the time and mommies are no exception!
I really want other moms to know that they are amazing and feel it every day. Good for you being proud of what you’re doing for your children!
Thanks, Joey. I want all moms to know they’re amazing too!
I agree with Joey i wish more mums knew how great they are and valued their contribution to their families – i think we have a tendency to undermine our roles and contributions and are not even open to hearing it from others.. what a beautiful reminder thanks ! Marwa from BlossomFamily.net i found you on the bloggy mummy hop!
Thanks, Marwa. It’s really hard to stay positive in a world that constantly shows us our shortcomings, but the journey to self-awareness is definitely worth taking!
I can totally relate. There have been instances that I’ve locked myself up in the bathroom and cried as well, but I’m also the same person who stands up, looks at myself in the mirror, wipes away the tears and walks right back out there like the supermom that I am. We’re all more than superheroes. We’re mothers.
Mommy’s Castle
I’ve also had my share of bathroom tears some of which I recover from gracefully and some of which I don’t but those are the times when I am able to show my children what it is to be honest, emotional and human.
